The Empathy Project seeks to help individuals and organizations thrive through deeper human understanding.
Why this is important:
- Our contention is that at the core, at the foundational levels of any human-based system in the world, empathy plays a critical role in enabling those systems to work. Whether that is understanding your customers better, being a better football coach, creating deeper engagement from your work team, or creating healthier relationships within your circle of family and friends, empathy is the emotional lever that improves our lives, and the lives of those that are important to us.
- Positive application of empathy, in our view, stands to improve the world – for if we truly understand others, experience their lives, feel their joys, sorrows and aspirations, it will change how we think about them, and with some expert guidance, we can shift behaviors in ways that result in common benefit. This has a direct impact on team performance, as well, and on building a culture that improves individual and team performance.
